Custom Pump Casting for Line Shaft Turbines

We produced the pump casting shown here for use in a line shaft turbine. Utilizing a match plate molding process that involved using a complex multi-piece core box enabled us to efficiently create the internal cavities and the reentrant angles. Bench grinding brought the gray iron workpiece to its finished dimensions and prepared the interior surfaces for application of a porcelain coating. Custom developed by one of our manufacturing partners, the coating process was developed and provides improved flow and increased wear resistance to boost performance and minimize maintenance of the finished product. In addition to dimensional inspections, we verified the Brinell hardness of the work piece was within the 187 - 241 range to ensure it would withstand the rigors of agricultural and industrial environments.
